Jacinte Armstrong

Dancer

Jacinte Armstrong is an artist based in Halifax/K’jipuktuk, NS. Her work explores embodied practice through performance, choreography, collaboration, and curation, communicating the experience of the body in relation to objects, materials, sounds and people. She performs regularly with SiNS (Sometimes in Nova Scotia) Dance, Mocean Dance and independently. She was Artistic Director of Kinetic Studio from 2014-18, and since 2015 has been part of 8DAYS8JOURS, an annual gathering of Canadian choreographers (8days8jours.ca). In 2016 Jacinte received a Nova Scotia Masterworks Award as a dancer with Mocean Dance in Canvas 5 x 5 choreographed by Tedd Robinson, and was awarded an Established Artist Recognition Award by the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council. She is a member of CADA, the CDA, and the DTRC. Jacinte is currently an MFA candidate (2020) at NSCAD University. For more visit jacintearmstrong.com
