Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kate began her training at Halifax Dance where she performed in the Young Company and completed the Intensive Training Program. During this time, she attended programs at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The National Ballet School, L’ecole Supérieure de Ballet du Québec and Arts Umbrella. In 2008 she was invited to attend the 2nd annual Beijing International Ballet Invitational. 

Upon completion of her training at Halifax Dance, Kate continued post-secondary training at L’ecole Supérieure de Ballet du Québec. During this time, she danced for le Jeune Ballet du Québec. Chosen to perform and tour internationally, she has presented pieces by Gioconda Barbuto, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Shawn Hounsell. Upon graduation, Kate was awarded le prix L’Agora de la Danse, and in 2011 was invited to be part of the Banff Summer Dance Company, participating in creations by Robert Stephen and Gioconda Barbuto. 

Since 2011, she has danced under the direction of Joshua Beamish for MOVE:the company, and Courtnae Bowman for Cadence Contemporary Ballet. She also had the privilege of dancing in works by Barak Marshall and Kate Wallich as part of Springboard Danse Montreal and has performed with Alysa Pires Dance Projects, Tyler Angell and Lydia Zimmer + Dancers.
