Emerging Artist in Residence: Hayley Bone

A graduate of the Maritime Conservatory Teacher Training Program, Hayley is eager to dive into this residency to develop her path toward becoming a professional dance artist. Identifying as a LGBTQ+ artist, her residency will explore the shared experience of queer people in dance. She’ll be creating a new work that challenges the hyper-femininity and heteronormative storylines often found in dance, while also engaging the LGBT2Q+ community, to host workshops, talks and other opportunities for connection.
