About Communities in Mocean - Older Adults Dance Project:
This community-driven creation program for older adults sprang from the 8-year success of our Moving with Mocean library classes. Mocean Co-Artistic Director Sara Coffin, with a team of local dance artists, led participants through a creative process for dance, sharing the joys of moving and making. Funded in-part from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program, the program aimed to bring the benefits of dance to older adults at all levels of ability and mobility, while uplifting the stories and experiences from our elders that so rarely take center stage.
